A day trip to München

A view of the city from the Englischer Garten.

On a free Saturday a couple of weekends back, my Bavarian friend Kathi took me to her home city to show me around, only the second time I’d been. And the first was just getting drunk at Oktoberfest. We used the Bayernticket service, paying €13.50 each from Salzburg, and the journey took two hours.

Here’s a list of things we did;

– Had lunchtime cocktails in the Hard Rock Cafe.

– Had mid-afternoon beer by the river in the Englischer Garten.

– Had late-afternoon beer in the Chinesischer Turm beer garden, also in the English Garden.

Well, what can I say; I’ll just see the sights another time!

    • I didn’t! How stupid, we must have been so close! I plan to go again soon so will definitely put that on the to-see list. Apparently there’s somewhere you can surf in the river near Salzburg too, though I’m yet to find that. Thank you for all your lovely comments and appreciation!
